START LOVING YOUR BODY

You are rarely satisfied with your appearance and are always seeking a better body image. A good body image requires loving and accepting who you are. It doesn’t come easy! You may fool others about how you love yourself, but do you need others to prove to you that you are worthy of love.

The magazines say the perfect man is handsome, tall and muscular. The perfect woman is beautiful, firm, thin, and has large breasts. These perfect people are happy, rich and soul mates. You are put under pressure to have an ideal body image. You want to be happy and rich and their way is the way to get these things. Be like them and you can have all these things also.

Most guys want to be more muscular while woman want to be slimmer and wear a smaller size. Most young people think they are too fat. It’s hard to look into a mirror and only see the negatives.

The media show sexy leggy models with ultra thin calves in their ads for low fat healthy foods. All play on your needs to be glamorous and skinny. You can only be acceptable if you look a certain way. The product promises you success.

Companies use perfect bodies to make you dissatisfied with your body image. They sell you on products that will change that dissatisfaction. When the diet didn’t work, the cream didn’t hide your wrinkles, and the bra doesn’t give you the dreamy bust line, you feel you failed, and your self-esteem sinks rapidly.

An ideal body is not attainable. Your pursuit of the perfect body makes you constantly dissatisfied with your appearance. Put everything in perspective. You must accept yourself for who you are and what you are meant to look like. Be the best and healthiest person you can, and this is the perfect you.

Losing weight will give you a temporary boost but it is never long lasting. You must change the way you see yourself in the mirror. If your self-esteem is high, you will eat healthier and find it easier to exercise regularly.

Most of us don’t know who we are. You overrate yourself and then suffer the consequences. You don’t have all the info to accurately assess yourself and you often ignore the info you have about yourself.

You are not as hot as you think you are. You really think your abilities are great. You may be going down the tube but are totally unaware of it. Your standards are hard to tell and feedback is lacking.

What you think about yourself makes a big difference. Believe in yourself and feel good about the way you look. You will send positive vibes to everyone about who you are.

What do you want to hear from your soul mate? It’s nice to have him tell you how wonderful and beautiful you are. Stay away from people who criticize or judge you with harsh criticism.

People who barely know you are better judges of your abilities than you are. Strangers can predict your skills and abilities better than you can. You can’t be far from average, yet you think you are way above average. You are often wrong about what you would do under difficult circumstances.

You want to believe you are right and want the world to think you are loveable and a very capable person. Why do you fool yourself? Because you need it.

How can you start loving your body? Put the scale away. Focus on seeing that your thighs could use some work. Find something nice about your image as your great hair, nails, and teeth. Say something good and positive about yourself.

Be as kind to yourself as you are to others. Respect what you say about yourself. Buy some clothes that really fit you and look the best you can. After all, you are worth it. Cherish your unique body.
